Sainsbury Mobile Aim To Take Out Tesco Mobile in the NEW YEAR

Sainsbury’s in talks with Everything Everywhere to create network

Sainsbury’s is doing a Tesco and launching its own mobile phone network – Everything Everywhere is said to be providing the infrastructure

Sainsbury’s is doing a Tesco and getting into the network business. The supermarket giant is said to be partnering with Everything Everywhere for its second attempt at cracking the mobile sector.
The news comes via Mobile Magazine, which reports that Sainsbury’s is close to a securing an MVNO deal with Everything Everywhere. Vodafone, according to the report, was also in contention but was forced to drop out due to its MVNO deal with Asda.

‘Sainsbury’s has been trying to get an MVNO off the ground for sometime and has now got the green light to go ahead.’

This isn’t the first time Sainsbury’s has ventured into the mobile phone market. Way back in 2000, Sainsbury’s launched a pre-pay network, which it ended up selling to O2.

But the market is a different place today than it was 10 years ago. Contract tariffs are a lot more common, as is smartphone usage. This means huge potential revenue streams for company’s that can afford to spread the costs and damages.

Sainsbury’s is one such company. It’s got well over 500 stores in the UK alone and millions of customers that it can tap into with deals, offers and price-plans. All in all, Sainsbury’s could definitely give Tesco a run for its money in the New Year, especially if it snags some decent handsets.

Tesco Mobile VS Asda Mobile

Right clash of the Titans this is
TESCO MOBILE VS ASDA MOBILE

These 2 supermarket giants are constantly going at it like cats and dogs, both under cutting eachother on deals. Its pretty sad really if you think about it....
Sim onlys, 12month plans,18 month plans and even there 24month plans its a right battle field...

I want to take a look at the 2 companies and see what is actually different....

Lets start with the american company Asda Mobile..

Asda Mobile is a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) in the UK, operated by Asda, using the Vodafone UK network. Asda Mobile was launched in April 2007. As of 21 August 2007, Asda mobile was available in 237 stores across the UK.

Asda Mobile has won awards for customer service, and for being the cheapest national mobile network. As of 28 February 2011 rival Tesco's Pay As You Go Lite tariff slightly undercuts Asda's standard charges by 2p/min and 2p/text, however is 10p/MB more expensive for Internet use.

Now Lets take a look at the mighty Tesco Mobile.

Tesco Mobile is run on the O2 network in the UK and Ireland. As such the virtual operator is able to offer comprehensive coverage of the UK population without having to invest in infrastructure. The company focuses on value for money deals, but in practice offers tariffs comparable with other operators, particularly rival virtual operator Virgin Mobile based on the T-Mobile network.
Tesco mobile now have 2.6 million customers on Friday 13 May 2011.

Thats the history, now for the layouts, oh i can see that Tesco Phone Shops look exactly the same as Asda Phone Shops, so hmmmm who stole whos layout.

The policies look exactly the same but in different colours whats going on there...

Both have there reward schemes Tesco Clubcard or Asda Reward Card

Do you know what if i had to choose it would have to be Tesco Mobile, They have got slightly better deals, staff seem more knowledgable and i love the idea of the clubcard points.
